So many reasons to love the Languedoc
Posted 2 years ago by Briana Lucas
Many years ago it may have been the land of cheap table wine, but now it is the source of some of the best value wines in the country. We’re excited to take you to the Languedoc and share some of the fun and interesting wines we love from this region.
LA GRANGE DE QUATRE SOUS
Innovator owner/winemaker, Hildegard Horat-Diop has become a pioneer for female winemakers in the Languedoc and also for organic farming.
Bruno Laboucarié’s family has been making wine at this Domaine since the 17th century. Sustainably Farmed. Magnums available.
CHATEAU La ROQUE
Romans originally planted these vines. Winegrowing resumed in the thirteenth century when the de la Roque brothers planted new vines. Today, Château La Roque is in the capable hands of Jacques Figuette, who has continued to convert to organic and now biodynamic viticulture. With southern sun exposure, clay and limestone soil, this is unique terroir.
DOMAINE LEON BARRAL
Barral is a beacon of revolutionary winemaking; grapes are biodynamically farmed, hand harvested, fermented with natural yeasts, and no additional SO2 is added.
